A brighter future is in your hands.  We’re currently seeking a Fleet Manager – Fleet and Equipment Operations

BrightView is looking for a Fleet Manager – BVLD Fleet and Equipment Operations (BVLD: BrightView Landscape Development).  There are three areas of responsibility for this position:

  • Fleet Administration: oversee, manage and improve BVLD fleet administration processes and compliance requirements (some examples are: California CARB compliance, fleet record keeping, fuel spend exceptions monitoring, equipment rental spend monitoring and compliance)
  • Fleet Operations: support sustainment of existing fleet practices and manage implementation of new fleet programs within the nationwide distributed network of BVLD branches (some examples are: shop and yard organization, vehicle and equipment maintenance programs). Also support fleet and equipment innovation initiatives (some examples are: find and facilitate new equipment testing/demo, share and implement equipment  best practices across branches)
  • Fleet Procurement: maintain existing and establish new relationships with regional and nationwide BVLD fleet and equipment vendors, including defining purchasing strategy and negotiating  and maintaining purchasing programs (examples of categories of spend are: field equipment and implements, job start up equipment, small tools and hand tools, crane and lifting services)

 

This position reports to the BVLD Vice President of Continuous Improvement and is part of the broader Corporate Fleet Operation and Procurement Team. This Fleet Manager position will be supporting fleet administration, operations and procurement activities at a national level and will be preferably located in Orange County CA as the home office. This position will require some travel (up to 20-30%).              

Armed with significant experience and knowledge of light equipment and the construction industry, the ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills to (a) implement and sustain new and existing BVLD fleet programs and processes (b) identify, drive and maintain vendors’ relationships with all BVLD fleet and equipment partners

The successful candidate is ambitious, has strong people and communication skills, is highly organized and customer-service oriented.

The Fleet Manager works with corporate staff, division and branch management teams as well as suppliers to research, identify, and leverage best practices leading to cost effective and timely delivery of required information, products and services.  The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • 3 to 5 year experience in Fleet Operations (or related position) within the Construction industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • History of effective analyst-type work or equivalent experience
  • Energetic, organized and self-motived
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communications and critical thinking skills
  • Work with partners to resolve challenges and handle urgent requests
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistently provide a high level of customer service and professionalism to customers (internal & external)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Advanced Excel proficiencies must include the ability to accurately consolidate multiple data collections from several database sources, and be able to clearly summarize large data groups through use of pivot tables, vlookups, and formulation as needed
